J.C. Hempel, founder of the Hempel Group of companies and chairman of the Hempel Foundation, passed away in Copenhagen recently at the age of 91. He was a legend in his lifetime, having in just over 70 years built up a worldwide organization from a relatively small beginning in Denmark.
